Janney Furnace Park

 

Major General (Ret) Larry E. Lee will present a slide/lecture on the “ Skirmish at Ten Islands Ford” at the Janney Furnace Confederate and Native American Museum located in Ohatchee . Lecture will feature Union General Louvell H. Rousseau’s raid into Alabama and Confederate Brigadier General James Holt Clanton’s Valliant effort to prevent Rousseau from crossing the Coosa River at Greensport and the Ten Island Ford.


 

Robert Lindley, Professor of History at Gadsden State, will present a program entitled “Calhoun County during the Civil War” at the Janney Furnace Confederate and Native American Museum located in Ohatchee. Learn why the War Between the States would not have lasted as long as it did if it had not been for the role Calhoun
County played.
